Static Count Down Banner
If your desire is to embed a static banner which reminds users of the release date, the following images should do the trick. As 300 pixels is a typical width for many blog page sidebars the width of the image is 300px.
If your blog requires a different dimension; no problem, see the “adjustment notes below”.
Also available at the top of this post is a 603x353px column header image suitable for release party announcements and other posts.

Dynamic Count Down Banner
If you would like to count the days until release the following banner will satisfy this requirement.

Insert the following code snippet into a blog text widget to display an updated daily image linked to “ubuntu.com”.

Image Adjustment Notes
These images are optimized to save space and bandwidth but if you discover the perfect image size for your site is different from those posted, adjust the width and height arguments as desired. Be sure to keep the aspect ratio the same.
Finally I must warn the dynamic count down banner is not a high tech solution as I will manually upload the daily images around 12:00am London time which may not align exactly with your time zone.
