To my great delight, it looks like the Ubuntu Font Family has been released as an open beta in the Ubuntu "maverick" development release today. I've been using this font since July and I've found it a very nice, very usable and readable font. I've enjoyed testing it in various signage, presentations, and so forth and it definitely is distinctive without being tiring.I look forward to reading more of the weekly serious from Dalton Maag on the Canonical Design Blog.
