quite possibly no one would want to go back from Ice Cream Sandwich to Honeycomb since ICS is way cooler and faster. Fiddling around I actually found a way to downgrade to Honeycomb. ok, people have done that in the past but I didn’t find any posts I just went for it to try if it was possible to go down from ICS turns out it happened. Basic inspiration from http://eeepadhacks.net
As of today 28 February 2012 V9.2.1.11 is the latest version of firmware for asus transformer TF101
Before you start make sure your transformer is rooted follow my previous post for How To root and also you have an external micro SD card formatted as fat32 also DO NOT FLASH WHILE DOCKED
1. Download 8239USrecovery.zip (its an older version of transformer’s recovery) and put it on the micro SD card.
2. Download Clockwork mod recovery installer apk from here (credit gnufabio)
3. run the apk file from your Eee Pad transformer’s file manager, open the installed app and you’ll know how to install CWM.
Since we wanted to downgrade the rom (I only have a US version of transformer and tested it on it only ) lets reboot into CWM recovery, for that turn off the transformer and start it again with the power switch with the volume- key pressed, you will some text at boot press volume+ and you have now entered CWM recovery.
In CWM navigate to ‘install zip from sdcard’ then ‘chose from SD card’ and select the recovery file you put on the microSD card.
Now CWM recovery is gone now you have Asus’ stock recovery installed so again follow the same steps i.e. turn off Eee Pad and start it again with volume- etc but what’s changed now is that you have an original ROM from ASUS on the card renamed to EP101_SDUPDATE.zip — its better if the microSD card is formatted to fat32 and have only one partition.
That is it your work it over its now for the transformer to do its magic and get you back to honeycomb. It may also happen that you might get into a loop where ASUS spinner would keep rotating and tablet won’t start for that do the following
1. turn off tablet, start with volume- pressed and after that don’t press any button you will be presented with a selection between ‘Android’ and ‘Wipedata’ go for wipe (it will remove everything on the transformer) and now the transformer should boot.
Also uploaded the two files incase above links stop working
