Are you at the Ubuntu Developer Summit in Orlando?

Are you participating remotely?

If so, you have probably had the pleasure of using Summit. Most people know that in the past Summit has not been the easiest to play with. This past 6 months the Summit Developers have been busy doing tons of work on Summit making huge improvements to the system.

During UDS-O in Budapest, the Summit Development team created a huge list of work items. We had a total of 29 action items come out of the UDS session, as well as other maintenance and development things that needed to happen. 20 of these action items were completed, as well as many other things that didn’t make the action items list. By my count, we had 122 code commits and fixed 64 different bugs.

This work was done by a very small team, consisting mostly of volunteers. We added three new community developers this cycle, Jamal Fanaian, Penelope Stowe and David Callé. Hopefully they will continue doing great work on Summit with us. We also had new commits from Maris Fogels and Danilo Segan from Canonical and Linaro respectively. We also continued to have great work done by Nigel Babu, Michael Hall and James Westby.

This Wednesday (November 2) at 12 noon EDT is our planning session for Summit during the UDS-P cycle. If you are interested in helping to shape the future of Summit and UDS, please stop by the session!

I look forward to working during this next 6 months with the great team of developers that we have, and hope that we are able to recruit a few new people to join in the fun!
