David Sugar: Back to releasing freedom

After a strategic pause, we are, with the release of GNU uCommon 5.0.6 tonight, formally back in the business of building freedom.

This is also our first package released since internally migrating to a git infrastructure. Official source releases are now pushed both to github and savannah. Our debian package repositories for squeeze and testing will also be updated shortly at http://www.gnutelephony.org/archive. I also have an Ubuntu ppa, but that has not been maintained in perhaps as much as two years now. I would like to see about resurrecting that, but I do not have that much time for further duplicating packaging efforts myself, and we have actually automated debian archive builds into our release infrastructure. I would rather see stuff get into mainline repositories anyway.

I will soon articulate more about our longer term vision of GNU SIP Witch, including integration with friendika for secure real-time federated social networking, communication privacy and mesh networks, and integration with moodle for distance learning.
