Tomorrow (Saturday the 17th) at 16:00 UTC the Ubuntu Women Project is launching their Career Days initiative with a session about and what it’s like to be a Linux Systems Administrator.
In the coming months the project will host one of these days per month covering professions such as:
- Programmer
- Tech journalist and author
- Chief Technology Officer
And more!
Career Days is the brain child of Cheri Francis who was inspired by her own experiences in tech and studies which continue to show that women lack female role models and exposure to tech career opportunities.
So join us in welcoming the project to our channel by coming to their first session on Saturday, September 17 at 16:00 UTC in #ubuntu-classroom on irc.freenode.net (#ubuntu-classroom-chat for questions).
These sessions are open to the whole community, you don’t need to be a woman to attend or participate.
