The Ubuntu forums is having some technical difficulties resulting in a number of intermittent problems including a slow response time, proxy errors, and at times problems in posting or duplicate posts.
A minority of posts will experience a significant lag time (sorry about this). Because of this lag, posts may not appear for up to 20-25 minutes. To reduce the number of duplicate posts, please wait 20 minutes and refresh your browser before re-submitting a post.
We are working with Canonical to identify and resolve the issues as quickly as possible.
In the interim, to maintain the support areas, we have disabled a few non-support features. This includes:
- Closing the Cafe, Community games, and recurring discussions to new posts. These areas will be re-opened asap.
- Social groups, user (picture) albums, visitor messages, and listing online users.
With these temporary changes performance has improved although we still experience problems, especially during times of peak use.
Please be patient as we work to resolve these issues and understand the staff on these forums are all volunteers and sometimes technical problems server side do not have easy or rapid solutions.
